Simple Skincare Ingredients: Why Less Can Be Better | RAH/CEL
Share
Walk through the skincare aisle of almost any store and you'll find ingredient lists that seem to go on forever. Twenty, thirty, sometimes even fifty ingredients are packed into a single bottle. Many have names that are difficult to pronounce, and most of us couldn't tell you what half of them actually do.
At RAH/CEL, we chose a different path.
Not because simple is trendy, but because we believe nature has already provided many of the ingredients people have trusted for generations.
Every Ingredient Should Earn Its Place
When we begin developing a product, we don't start by asking, "What can we add?"
We start by asking, "What does this product truly need?"
Every ingredient should have a purpose. If it doesn't improve the performance, stability, or experience of the product, it doesn't belong simply to make the label look more impressive.
That philosophy keeps our formulas intentional, balanced, and focused on what matters most.
Nature Has Been Doing This for a Long Time
Long before modern skincare laboratories existed, people cared for their skin using simple ingredients found close to home.
Rich animal fats, nourishing plant oils, botanical extracts, mineral salts, and natural clays have long been used in traditional skin-care practices.
While today's science continues to deepen our understanding of these ingredients, we also appreciate the wisdom that has been passed down through generations.
Our goal isn't to recreate the past.
It's to combine time-honored ingredients with thoughtful formulation to create products that feel at home in modern life.
Simple Doesn't Mean Basic
There's a common misconception that fewer ingredients mean a product is less effective.
We believe the opposite can often be true.
Choosing a handful of carefully selected ingredients allows us to keep a formula focused on exactly what the product is intended to do.
Whether it's nutrient-rich grass-fed tallow, lightweight jojoba oil, protective beeswax, or magnesium chloride selected for our wellness products, each ingredient is chosen because it serves a clear purpose.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
Transparency Matters
You deserve to know what you're putting on your skin.
That's why we believe ingredient lists shouldn't feel like a mystery.
We'll always strive to explain what we use, why we use it, and how it contributes to the finished product. Our Ingredient Library was created for exactly that reason—to help you understand the story behind every bottle, jar, and tin we make.
We believe informed customers make confident choices.
Rooted in Nature. Living Essentially.
Those five words aren't just our tagline.
They're the foundation of every decision we make.
They remind us to slow down, simplify, and choose quality over quantity.
To create products inspired by the coast we call home and crafted with ingredients chosen for their purpose—not their popularity.
We're still learning. We're still growing. And we're grateful you've chosen to be part of this journey with us.
Thank you for believing that sometimes, the simplest path is the most meaningful one.
